The International School of Bologna

“Today (24th March 2021) we had the pleasure of being guided by Lisa in a class discussion on the topic of "one world, different experiences, different realities," in particular regarding racism. Through her kindness and warmth, Lisa has made us all feel at home, creating a space in which we could look into our thoughts and judgements, and begin an important journey of self-enquiry. We were able to see the differences in our experiences, yet also feel the commonalities that lead to empathy and understanding. I personally have come away from this discussion inspired: inspired to know and assert my own value, inspired to continue to question myself and to educate myself on realities unlike my own, and inspired to continue to provide my students with the safe space and opportunity to do the same. You know those little slivers of time that you experience and you can feel something shifting? This discussion was one of those. Life changing. Thank you.”

“Lisa's speech was super engaging and educating. Her positive energy and interesting stories had all of us listening!”- Year 10 Student.

“Ms. Bent brought such a positive energy when she discussed her experience as a Black woman with my class, and she inspired me personally to look deeper within myself to reflect on how my identity is shaped by my appearance and experiences.” -Year 10 Teacher.

“I’ve been watching different news channels all morning (what else is there to do...) and you are the first person to speak as someone with an actual heart. It was so refreshing to watch you. You are so right about empathy and I feel we see less and less of it by the day - the world is exhausting...I just wanted to thank you for being real!” - from a Viewer.

Workshop Feedback

“I found this workshop so valuable. It really made me look deep into myself and address certain feelings I have regarding myself and others who are or have been part of my love story. Lisa made the session feel like such a safe space. I would definitely recommend this workshop to anyone wanting to dig deeper into seeing how they view love.” - Workshop attendee.

Jenny Burns

CEO, FLUXX

At the beginning of the year Fluxx held a Work Reimagined Festival, where around 1,000 business leaders came together over 15 events to share perspectives and insights on how we connect, collaborate, inspire, innovate and make decisions in a new world of remote working.

Along with other industry leaders and subject matter experts, Lisa was part of our guest panel on our wellbeing day; we picked her brains to unpack how employers could and should best support their people during this challenging time. Drawing on her experience as an HR professional and a trained counsellor, Lisa brought honesty, wisdom, and radiant energy to the conversation. Thank you for being part of our event.

Lisa delivered a Keynote, Celebration of Blackness: shifting the narrative, which recognised the contributions made by the Black community as part of our Black History Month programme at Dennis. It was fantastic to have a keynote that was really tailored to our business and looked at celebrating Black People within publishing and media and to also have a speaker that was so knowledgeable within that space. We really loved the professional yet fun energy that Lisa brought to the session. Her ability to hit home the importance of recognising and celebrating diversity within this space coupled with the stories she told made the session informative and engaging for all, we were definitely left wanting to learn more!

Thank you, Lisa!

Founder of PRECIOUS

Over the last few years Lisa has become a key asset to the PRECIOUS brand. As the host of our annual Lifestyle Awards her stage presence sets the tone for a magnificent event. Lisa has the rare ability to make the audience feel engaged and excited as well as ensuring the finalists feel centre stage.

Lisa has been the host of our monthly PRECIOUS Nights at the British Library almost since its inception. She has an unique ability to skilfully tease out the answers to the questions the audience really want to hear and create a safe place for honesty, reflection and fun. Lisa is a natural host, engaging, warm, unflappable and with an infectious positive energy.

My genuine experience of working with Lisa is that she is ‘all in’ for your event, she wants it to succeed as much as you do and her work for you begins way before she steps onto the stage. She brings a meticulous attention to detail, years of experience and an absolute ‘can do’ attitude. I would book her before her diary blocks out!

“Lisa is a skilled, dynamic and energising presenter and host with a rich background in people development and psychology. She wonderfully blends a natural flair for presenting on radio, on screen or at live events with a deep understanding of our human journey of self discovery which gives her the great ability to connect with guests, listeners, viewers and various audiences. I've had the joy of being a regular guest on one of her radio shows in the past and more recently co-hosting with her at awards and business conferences. She is fun, professional, sharp and has a 'can do' approach to make events and programmes work wonderfully.”

- Chair, Development Board, Black Cultural Archives

(2016-2019)

“I had seen Lisa moderate events and panels on other occasions and knew she would be excellent for the ‘In Conversation with Sir Lenny Henry” that Black Cultural Archives held in September 2019. Before a packed Lambeth Assembly Hall, Lisa led Sir Lenny through a tour de force review of his life as revealed in his biography “Who am I, again?”. As Sir Lenny is a consummate storyteller, Lisa’s skill was to ask well informed questions that showcased his humour and moving self reflections on his remarkable life. Lisa brought her intelligence, charm and sense of fun to the event and it wouldn’t have been a success without her.”

“I heard Lisa’s show on depression by chance and it really touched me. I never considered counselling before, until that day. Men don’t talk enough and we need to.

Her knowledge and style of delivery is fantastic. I needed to hear that show and she kept me listening.”

“It was a packed agenda with very many speakers and panels and Lisa did an excellent job of keeping everyone informed, engaged and interested, adding her own observations and learnings along the way.  She was indeed the ‘golden thread’ that held the day together, made sure everything ran to time and that people went away energised and inspired.”

“I’m Fine” Workshop participant

“I learnt so much about depression in this workshop. It was interactive, creative and she managed to take the heaviness out of it. Everything from the location, music and choice of food was well thought out. Lisa is not only an excellent host, but also a great workshop facillitator.”
